Background

FUND A CHILD CENTER FOUNDATION, is an inbound charity agency based in Uganda.  It was started by a concerned citizen Godfrey Elasmus Tumwesigye after realizing the suffering and hardships faced by the children of Uganda especially the orphans and the less privileged. Being born an orphan and raised in an orphanage home in western Uganda, Bwindi region, Godfrey is an experienced safari guide, he started as low as a local village walk, nature walk guide around Bwindi impenetrable national park, because of his character, he was recruited by K safaris Uganda. Godfrey saw the need for the children of Uganda, especially children who were dying on the streets because of hunger.

He came up with an idea of starting up a charity organization, for him to use his God given & acquired skills to generate income and feed these people.

Fund a Child center is working  on behalf of HIV/Aids orphans and other vulnerable kids to end systemic deprivation, poverty and hunger through a holistic approach to community development, education and healthcare through child education sponsorship and extracurricular activities, both formal and informal as the means to counteract pervasive hunger, poverty and systemic resource deprivation.

Our mission, is to be the first link point in accessing the most problematic destinations and providing the best support services across Uganda. And also improve community livelihoods through, environmental conservation and Eco-tourism.

Our goal, is to develop a community with the capacities so they are able to generate a sustainable revenue source through the development of profitable tourism-based enterprises for effective natural resource management and conservation.

By protecting the rare mountain gorillas. Through Tea planting, together with Uganda Wild Authority, FUND A CHILD CENTER provides jobs for locals through tea planting, while simultaneously preventing the gorillas from raiding local farmlands and risking injuries outside Bwindi national park.

Our Vision is for rural communities to build strong community and family structures using sustainable, community-focused approaches to address challenges faced due war, HIV/Aids pandemics and poverty.

We believe that a hunger free, quality education is the best and the only way for Young men and women to empower themselves with the courage, self-esteem, language knowledge and power it takes to change the status quo for the better. We do this with the goal of ending pervasive cycles of poverty, hunger and deprivation. The organization contributes 90% of its earnings to charity and locally hand crafts made by the children and the community women are available for purchases and all the proceedings go to support the communities across Ugandan projects.

Godfrey learnt that the less privileged communities especially around Bwindi impenetrable national park struggle with lack of farm-able land and accessibility. many orphans live on less than $1 or possibly nothing in a day but still wake up each morning motivated to initiate

change in their livelihoods but lack resources to do so.

Fund a Child center looks at projects with the most sustainable impact to reduce on these burdens to the children and the communities around, start to bring change.
